About six weeks ago I applied to a Silicon Valley tech startup named Databricks. They are one of the leaders in big-data analytics which is an area I am very interested in.
They responded and I have had two phone interviews, a technical exam, an in-person interview last week with their lead Boston salesman and today they asked me to visit their San Francisco headquarters on June 28.
Needless to say, I am thrilled.
Theirs fits the typical profile: a group of Ph.D. candidates at UC Berkeley build a product that becomes an instant success among the tech cognoscenti and they drop out of school to form a company with the backing of several Menlo Park Venture Capital firms.
